At LC Packaging, we do our best to contribute to a world without waste. We do so in many different ways, among which is designing our packaging in such a way as to eliminate packaging waste and other negative environmental and social impacts related to our packaging. Together with one of our customers, we have managed to reduce the customer’s plastic use on bagged malt pallets by 45% this year. 

After numerous R&D and several trials, we now offer a gloss on gloss with Over Print Varnish (OPV) on 25kg WPP bags, which gives the bags maximum stability when being transported. Because of its stability, pallets are now being wrapped with only one layer of hooder material instead of two. This is what ultimately resulted in a 45% reduction in plastic use for this purpose. With LC Packaging’s solution, the customer was able to decrease its plastic use from 68 tonnes per year to 36 tonnes per year.
