In 1991 LC Packaging Belgium first opened its doors in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. Today, LC Belgium celebrates its 30th anniversary in two offices with adjacent warehouses with set-up stations for cardboard boxes and trays. Here, 40 employees work enthusiastically to deliver high quality packaging to LC Packaging customers. Due to COVID-19 an official celebration was put on hold.
Upon opening in 1991, LC Packaging Belgium took on the sale of cardboard packaging from cardboard production facility Pacapime in addition to the sale of other fruit and vegetable packaging, such as jute and plastic packaging. For corrugated board, the focus was primarily on promoting and marketing corrugated board packaging in the industry. This soon expanded to the fresh produce sector, where the popularity of the corrugated cardboard box started to gain ground. Kurt Du Bois, Country Manager LC Packaging Belgium: “It quickly became clear that there was an urgent need for the fresh produce market to open our first set-up station in Belgium”. This resulted in the opening of a set-up station with offices in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Belgium. In 1999, an additional location in Sint-Truiden was opened. In 2020, LC Packaging Belgium placed additional box-erecting machines to create even more capacity, specifically for punnets.
Today, LC Packaging Belgium processes dozens of trucks with cardboard set-up boxes and trays every day at the two set-up stations. At the main location in Sint-Katelijne-Waver (4,500m2), a generous part of the warehouse is therefore intended for storage. Kurt: “Our strength lies in our high response speed to be able to quickly and completely meet customer demand. We have a solid stock, are located at an ideal location and our service focuses on completely unburdening our customers”.
At the same time), LC Packaging Belgium is taking a solid market leader position with FIBCs (big bags), especially in the food industry, (petro)chemicals, recycling, construction and mining. FIBCs offer many recycling possibilities and several developed sustainable initiatives, and thanks to own production facilities Dutch-Bangla Pack Ltd. in Bangladesh and LC Shankar in South Africa, and an extensive worldwide network of reliable production partners and warehouses, LC Packaging can deliver customised bags for every sector.
